My Story
Hi there! I am a New York State Licensed Clinical Psychologist and private practice owner. I received a doctoral degree (Psy.D.) in School-Clinical Psychology from Pace University.

I completed my 5th year pre-doctoral clinical internship at League Education and Treatment Center in Brooklyn, where I worked with children and adolescents requiring psychiatric services in a special education day treatment setting. I primarily worked with preschool- and school-age children as well as adolescents with developmental disabilities and emotional disturbance.

I completed my post-doctoral training through the New York State Office of Mental Health, at New York City Children’s Center, providing services to children and adolescents with severe psychiatric conditions in an inpatient hospital setting. In addition to providing therapeutic services, I also conducted extensive psychological evaluations, and supervised doctoral-level interns and externs in psychological assessment.

In the past, I have also taught undergraduate and graduate courses in childhood assessment and mental health consultation as an adjunct instructor at NYU.

I provide therapy and assessment services for children, teenagers, and adults. My clinical practice is rooted in psychodynamic and relational principles, however, I use an integrative approach, often incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment-based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) in my work.

I founded my practice, Cerda Psychology, in 2024 with a mission to provide high-quality clinical care while fostering a culture of support, warmth, and playfulness.
Thank you for your interest in my practice!
